June 9, 2012 ~ Wedding Day!!

Okay, so I am new to this whole blog thing and still have no clue how do it but I thought I would give it a try because I want it to be my new journal/scrapbook now that I am a new wifey :)

Lucas and I got married on June 9th 2012...6-9-12...and it was a perfect day! It was sunny and 95 degrees in Las Vegas with a little breeze so I was never warm, even though I was wearing a beautiful big white dress! The weather was a big worry for me considering the reception was going to be outside in my parents backyard but everything turned out!

The day started off with waking up at a whopping 8:20 in the morning to shower and get ready (I was glad I was able to sleep in compared to many other brides)! My lovely sister Anna did my hair, she curled it and did a french braid across the back of my head and then put the curls in a bun on the side, she did a wonderful job!! Then my stunning cousin Taralyn did my makeup, she did a smoky purple eye, which is my favorite color and one of my wedding colors! I have such talented family members!!

The plan for Today:

Getting Ready!!

While I was getting ready Lucas was watching the Holland soccer game with his family, since it only took him like 30 minutes to get ready...not fair!

After I was looking fabulous and all ready my mom and I rode to the Temple around 11:20 (which we were supposed to be at the temple at 11:45 so running a little late). The car ride was funny actually because my dad and brother Bryce decided to go workout that morning and my mom was worrying that they wouldn't be ready in time for the wedding at 1pm (having to be at the temple at 12:30), I was worrying that Anna (who was bringing a lot of stuff for us) wouldn't remember certain key things and Lucas called to tell me that a temple recommend was misplaced (luckily it wasn't his temple recommend, phew)! But we arrived at the temple only 5 minutes late and I was actually able to walk into the temple with my darling husband to be and soon to be father-in-law. Everything went smoothly and everything was perfect. It was neat because patriarch Tate was able to seal us and he knows both the Hoer family and the Tielemans family personally. Everyone that I could possibly want was at the temple sealing and it was so fun seeing all of my family and loved ones in one big, white, room as I knelt across an alter looking at the love of my life and knowing that I would soon be sealed for all eternity to him!! It was wonderful and it was amazing :)

After the sealing Diana, Dalein and my mom were able to help me in the brides room at the temple get into my wedding dress and get all pretty again to walk out of the temple and take pictures and see everyone. But I wasn't able to find my earrings when I was leaving the house for the temple so Anna was going to find them and bring them for me...but Anna couldn't find the earrings, so luckily Dalein was kind enough to offer up her beautiful earrings for me to wear! It will be a fun memory, wearing my new sister-in-laws earrings on my wedding day! It was neat because my bridal assistant was Mary Huntington, an aunt on the other-side for one of my cousins but she is like an aunt to me. But Lucas and I met in the lobby of the temple and we walked out of the temple doors together to see all of our family and loved ones waiting for us. We walked out, he spun me and dipped me with a cute kiss at the end, then we took lots of pictures and gave lots of hugs, it was so much fun!!

After family pictures Lucas and I took pictures around the temple grounds and it was perfect. Lacey Nielson did a wonderful job, we made a round around the temple grounds and she had all of the poses and positions planned out, she is so talented!!

This is the whole gang...everyone that was outside the temple to greet Lucas and I!!

This is the whole Hoer family, I love how big we have grown with the addition of Dalein and the addition of Chelsea in August!!

All of my fun siblings...now that we are all older we look like a mob!

I am finally officially apart of this fun family now...only took almost 2 years haha :)

Lucas luckily overcame the "Sister Mafia"!! They have become to be known as that among the cousins because when we were younger they would get together each week for "sister's day" and make new rules, and now that the cousins are older they question boyfriends to death and scare them away...But Lucas was a keeper :)

My Lovely Sisters that I LOVE so much!!

Brothers!! They play basketball together, play piano together and even play FIFA together....you name it...they do it together!!
Three generations of wedding rings!! Grandma Hoer, Me and Momma Hoer

The Groomsmen and my handsome new husband :)

The Lovely Bridesmaids!!

I was so happy that my best friends (and unofficial bridesmaids) could make it to my wedding, they are all so fun and have been great friends over the years :)
I love this man so much and I can't wait to spend eternity with him!! Here is a little taste of our photo-shoot on the temple Grounds!!

Were MARRIED!!!

Before the reception we took family pictures of Lucas and I with all of the families that were able to come to the wedding. We also took Bridesmaids and Groomsmen pictures:)

After pictures we started a line...kind of...my parents were so hard to get into one spot...my dad was talking to people in one spot and my mom was talking to people in another...it was kind of difficult but after 30 minutes we finally formed a functional line! After forming a line I realized the cupcakes and cake weren't out yet and so I went to talk to the caterers to find out they didn't have cupcakes...yes...they didn't have them...they didn't know they had to make cupcakes considering someone else was making the cake-topper!! We were very clear on the phone and meeting with them they were going to make cupcakes and my friend Hayley was going to make the cake-topper but I guess in the stress of catering his sons wedding the weekend before he forgot to make them. Aunt Carolyn was amazing and worked it out with them and the caterers ended up going to a store to get cupcakes. That was the only thing that went wrong the whole day though, so it was still a perfect day! Aunt Carolyn kept us on schedule with leaving a long line of people to cut the cake at 7:30.

Ellie wanted a hug after the whole cake cutting ceremony...she is so cute...I love her!!

We left another long line at 8pm to have our first dance. The DJ was Natalie Gubler and she did a wonderful job! Lucas and I had our first dance to our song, "Falling in Love at a Coffee shop" :) That song has quite the history with Lucas and I. Our first slow dance ever was to that song and when he proposed we danced to that song!

Here is the DJ script & Schedule:

Our First Dance!!

Lucas got to dance with his Mommy and I got to dance with my Daddy :)

Then it was party time!!! The rest of the night we danced and had fun! It was so much fun dancing with all our friends and family and my Hot new husband...I am glad he is a good dancer!! It was a fun night and I felt like everyone around us had fun also.

Then it was bouquet tossing time!!

Little Sophia caught the bouquet...I guess she is next!!

We left the house with sparklers and salt throwing...salt throwing wasn't a good idea, might be good for pictures but not good when your slightly sweaty and its thrown all over you!! We hopped into my car that was nicely decorated by Bryce, Chelsea and the California Hoer cousins and others and then drove to the Venetian!!
This is their lovely decorating job.

It was a wonderful, perfect day and night and I am so very blessed to have been able to meet and marry the man of my dreams, my best friend and Hot man Lucas William Tielemans, and now my new  last name is 5 letters longer than my maiden name...that will take some getting used to.
