April 30, 2014 ~ Pedicures and Purple Penguin

Before finals I had the privilege of going to get Pedicures and Purple Penguin with Mom, Diana and Rava. It was so much fun relaxing a little bit and having a girls afternoon before the craziness of finals. I love my family!

April 20, 2014 ~ Easter Sunday

April 20, 2014 ~ Easter Sunday

This easter at the Tielemans household was filled with games and festivities again. We had an Easter egg decorating contest and then we had an Easter egg game. In the Easter egg game we rolled our Easter eggs towards each other and saw which one would survive the collide and not break. We also had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard.

Lucas and I once again dominated all the Easter games. Lucas won the Easter egg decorating contest with his Monsters Inc. egg and I won the Easter egg game.

April 19, 2014 ~ High Roller Ride

There is a new faris wheel on the strip called the high roller and Lucas was able to get free tickets! I was so excited to go because riding the "high roller" is $35 a night, so it would have been $70 with the two of us! It was an amazing view of the strip. The faris wheel is the largest one in the world currently, its even bigger then the London Eye. The faris wheel turns so slowly that it doesn't even look like it's moving. The ride is a 30 minute ride and you walk into the pod while the faris wheel is still moving, it never stops. It was an amazing experience thats for sure!

March 16, 2014 ~ Springs Reserve

March 16, 2014 ~ Springs Reserve

The weather was perfect so we decided to make the trek to Spring Reserve as a family and spend the afternoon there. Sally was nice enough to bring sandwiches, fruit salad and snacks for us to eat. It's Jeff's birthday on March 19th so we also celebrated Jeff's birthday. We played frisbee as a family, ate good food and just enjoyed eachothers company. It turned out to be a beautiful day!

March 5, 2014 ~ UNLV vs. San Diego

Lucas is a really cool Preist Qurom adviser and decided going to a UNLV game would be a great activity. Peter Anderson and Riley Beck were able to come to the game and Lucas managed to get them student tickets for FREE! Then Bryant and Jac managed to get student tickets and sat with us also! We got good seats because Lucas and I went an hour before the doors opened and stood in line, but the hour wait was completely worth it! It was an AMAZING GAME! In the student section they handed out free Elvis wigs, glasses and a free rebels shirt. It was a white out because all of the student section had white shirts on. The crowd was pumped and there were a number of slam dunks, we were standing the whole time!

March 4, 2014 ~ Lucas' Restaurant

For Lucas' capstone class, a class that is required before graduation, his final project was putting on a restaurant. His group had to come up with a theme (Greek), come up with a menu, and get people to come to their restaurant. They had to provide the recipes for the menu and the fellow classmates made the dishes on the menu. They also had to decorate the restaurant and make a Greek atmosphere for their greek restaurant. Throughout the semester Lucas rotated throughout the restaurant, he rotated through being a chef, a host, waiter, and a managed. Luckily Lucas was a floor manager on the day that his group did their restaurant so I got to see him when I came to his restaurant! His group had to get 60 people to show up or else he would get a bad grade so we spread the word and there was a good turnout! Unfortunately his restaurant day landed on a tuesday but luckily I have a pretty cool boss that let me leave for lunch! Our family supported us and Lucas in his restaurant and because of the support and love Lucas had a school record breaking customer amount at his restaurant. He had..... people attend his restaurant!

You could either pay at the door or buy a ticket a head of time. This is what the admission ticket looked like.

They had to make posters and post them around campus to advertise their restaurant. Lucas knew exactly what would draw peoples eye...a naked Greek large baby! He is a funny genius, and he knew a pretty amazing graphic designer to help him out (Tony)! The class loved it but the professor didn't. Lucas tried appealing the denial of the professor because he knew the poster would be a hoot but they rejected his appeal and his group had to make a new poster.

This is what the new poster looked like. Still funny and appealing but nothing compared to the first one!

They had to make a menu for everyone to look at and order off of. Lucas was in charge of appetizers, so he picked humus because it's amazing!

Lucas accidentally got his tie wet when he was inspecting the food as the manager.

This is what the place looked like before everyone came. Once people started coming there was a line out the door! People unfortunately ended up leaving because the wait was so long.

Everything on the menu looked so delicious and you could only pick one entre, so naturally everyone got different dishes and we shared. Everything on the menu looked so good so of course we had to take a picture of every dish!

The handsome manager and me.

Everyone was so supportive and we made a fun afternoon of it!

March1, 2014 ~ Dad's Silver Beaver Award

March1, 2014 ~ Dad's Silver Beaver Award

Dad was awarded with the Silver Beaver. According to the internet, "Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council.[1] The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. It is given to those who do not actively seek it." They held a nice dinner and dad invited the whole family and grandma and grandpa came into town for it. It was a nice occasion to award my dad for all the hard work he has done over the years.

Everyone that was awarded the award got a little biography in the program and here is what Dad's biography stated. "Steven, an Eagle Scout, currently serves as a Relations Committee Member, His other positions in Scouting include Assistant District Commissioner, Institutional Head, Chartered Organization Representative, Assistant Varsity Coach and Merit Badge Counselor. He has revved his Duty to God Award. Steve has spearheaded the Friends of Scouting Drive the last six years and has raised over $320,000. He organized and executed a Little Philmont involving 47 Boy Scout packs and troops. Professionally, Steve currently serves as the Managing Director of the Horizon Surgery Center, as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor and Faculty Member at Touro Medical College and has served as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff at St. Rose Hospitals. He has been award the Top Doctor Award from the International Association of Orthopaedics for 2013, Physicians Choice Award with Seven Magazine and Patients Choice Award. Although Steve has been very involved both in Scouting and the community, he considers his greatest accomplishment - marrying Cynthia Utley and being the proud father of seven children.
