December 28, 2013 ~ Anna's 19th birthday

December 26, 2013 ~ Family at Work

Dad had office the day after Christmas and since everyone was in town everyone came in! Bryant and I are permanent employees already but Anna and Bryce came into work! Chelsea, mom and Diana brought us all lunch and we had a mini picnic. After lunch Chelsea stayed and pulled a couple people back and interviewed them. Realizing she couldn't really help too much, Chelsea then took a nap on the couch in dad's office. 't was fun working with all of my siblings.

December 25, 2013 ~ Christmas Day!

Our first Christmas in the house was awesome! I made a onesie for Lucas for christmas. I gave it to him early so he could wear it in Cedar City but Im surprised how much he liked it! Christmas morning the alarm woke us up and we snuggled for a while before getting out of bed. But I love snuggling and since we were both in our onesies I just had to get a picture! I unfortunately didn't get any action pictures of us opening presents but it was a good christmas! I got everything I could ever want. I already had everything I could ever hope for though. I have a wonderful husband who is loving, hard working and a strong priesthood holder. I have loving, supportive family members (both my own and Lucas's family) and I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! After unwrapping presents at our own house we stopped by the Tielemans household for a little and opened up presents then headed to the Hoer household. At the Hoer's we had dinner and the traditional talent show. It was a wonderful day full of present, fun family and good food.

December 21-24, 2013 ~ Snowboarding Trip!

On Saturday we woke up early to go snowboarding and when we got to the slopes (of course after buying our lift tickets) we realized we couldn't see because of such bad weather. It was such bad weather that we saw someone that had just come off the mountain and he was covered in ice...no joke...he was covered in ICE! It was crazy! Chelsea was able to sweet talk the person into letting us get a full refund on our lift tickets, even though there was a sign that said they weren't refundable, even for bad weather. After returning our rented snowboards and gear we decided to go back to Cedar City and just go into the Cedar City Canyon and sled. It was still a really fun day sledding! After sledding we all went bowling. At the bowling alley Lucas beat the record on the basketball arcade game! He is such a stud when it comes to anything athletic...actually...he is just a stud in general! Dad made his usual bets while bowling, but this time he got really creative! One bet was that you could hit down all the pins except for the two side pins making it a split or that you could hit all the pins down except one. The bets seemed easy but it was actually hard!

December 22

I think it is funny how traditions form. A couple years back while we were in Cedar City my dad started a snowball fight after church. Ever since then a snowball fight happens after church while we are still in our church cloths and just right outside the chapel.

December 23

We finally hit the slopes! It was perfect weather and tons of good snow because of the blizzard. For lunch we ate pizza that was heavenly and boarded some more. We were all exhausted at the end of the day but it was a good day!

December 14, 2013 ~ Christmas Lights!

There is a neighborhood off of Valley Verde and Paseo Verde that has the whole block decorated for Christmas! The pictures don't give the street and lights justice. Every house has a theme and every house is decked out from the chimney down. It was so fun walking around and enjoying each others company.

It is our first Christmas in the new house!! We weren't able to go and cut down our christmas tree in Alamo like last year but we still went Christmas tree hunting...in a christmas tree lot. We both LOVE the smell of christmas trees and love getting a real christmas tree. We got a big one this year since we have space for it!

October 26, 2014 ~ Grandpa Hafen's Temple Work

I sadly wasn't able to go to St. George to help do the temple work for Grandpa Hafen because of having Clinicals on Saturdays for nursing school. But I will let Lucas tell you a little about the trip.

It has been a year since the passing of our grandfather. Him and my grandma never got married and sealed in the temple. They were both less active in the church and never sealed the family together. Since it has been a year since his passing, we were permitted to do the temple work in his behalf. It was such a neat and special experience that won’t ever forget.

We all went to the St. George temple to have the work done. Joey Webb did Grandpa’s endowment and then I was able to do his sealing for him. Sealing my grandma and grandpa together so incredible. Julie stood in proxy for my grandmother. After we sealed grandpa and grandma together, my mother and Laurie kneeled down with us, and we were able to seal them together as a family. The spirit was so strong and I could feel my grandparents presence there. Words can’t describe how I felt in that room when we sealed everyone together. I love my grandparents and I know that they will accept the work that was done for them.

After the sealing we went to Snow Canyon and walked around hiking and enjoying the scenery. The weather was absolutely perfect and it was just so nice getting out and enjoying the great outdoors.
