February 9, 2013 ~ UNLV game & Million Dollar Quartet

February 9, 2013 ~ UNLV game & Million Dollar Quartet

UNLV games are usually really really fun but they are especially fun with Lucas and in the student section. Lucas always gets really into the games and in turn I get into the games because of him. He stands the whole time. He cheers, yells at bad calls and jumps when someone dunks or there is a good plays. Its a workout cheering and getting into games with Lucas but I LOVE it!! This one lady was handing out temporary tattoos and so I got extra team spirited and put the tattoo on. After the game we saw the Million Dollar Quartet at Harrah's. I am not sure if I was just tired or what but the show wasn't that entertaining for Lucas and I. I think I even dozed off for a little bit.  If it wasn't for the amazing pianist playing the famous Jerry Lee Lewis we would have left early. Man, that guy was amazing at the piano. His fingers moved so quickly and he sounded amazing! They played songs that I knew and liked but the storyline just seemed to drag on and on for some reason. It wasn't just us though, the guy next to us fell asleep.

February 8, 2013 ~ Valentines Dinner & Human Nature

February 8, 2013 ~ Valentines Dinner & Human Nature

Due to school and work we decided to celebrate Valentines day early! We went to Chipala''s, a Mexican restaurant for dinner. The food is good and we had a coupon so one of our meals was FREE! A free meal plus endless chips and salsa means a wonderful meal for a little money and that is my kind of meal! Plus we had the whole "dining in" experience. It was a really nice Valentines dinner. After dinner we went to Human Nature, for free! I just love Lucas's job so much, it has allowed us to go to so many fun shows for free. "Human Nature sung classic Motown songs but they are an Australian quartet. The show was at the Venetian. They were absolutely amazing though! They all had amazing voices. Their voices blended well with each others and when they sang a cpapella I had chills because of how crystal clear and on key they were.

January 18, 2013 ~ Sam's Wedding

January 18, 2013 ~ Sam's Wedding

Since it was Lucas brothers wedding I figured I would have Lucas write about it. Here is what Lucas wrote.
Sam's wedding was an absolute blast! The sealing went great, the sealer, Patriarch Tate, did a great job. By him sealing Sam and Jordan, it makes it official, Patriarch Tate married all 3 of us! First Carrie and Jeff, then Rachel and I, then finally Sam and Jordan.

The weather was perfect, a little chilly but very nice. After taking pictures for half hour or so, we went back home to get ready for the reception.

The reception was held at a golf course that overlooked the Las Vegas valley. It was very nicely done. A lot of people came to the reception even though it was all the way in Antheim. At first the DJ was just playing music until most of the people showed up. After there were more people, the DJ played a little bit more upbeat music. At that point, a lot of people got up to dance. But when they put on the Billie Jean by MJ, people cleared the dance floor for me, because that’s my jam. What was even better, the DJ had a hat and glove, just like the one Michael Jackson wears. I am not a very good dancer, but I do know a few dance moves of MJ. Sam joined in as well…it made for a good night.

Sam said this about his wedding:

"Our wedding day was such a happy day for me! Nothing could have gone better than it did. I felt very loved that day by my family and friends as they showed their support by coming to such a special occasion for us. Best of all, I got to marry Jordan, who has brought me joy and has worked with me to create our new life together. The day seemed to go by too fast - I barely got to eat at the reception because I was talking with everyone and having such a good time."

January 18, 2013 ~ Sisters all at work

January 18, 2013 ~ Sisters all at work

Friday January 18th was Sam's wedding but I had to go to work. I had to leave work around 11am so I recruited some sisterly love to help me out at work so I could go to the wedding without leaving work with the office behind. Diana is a nurse at Siena and was willing to come back to the office to help out. Anna had just started working at the office since she is a senior at Coronado.

January 11, 2013 ~ Lemongrass Restaurant

January 11, 2013 ~ Lemongrass Restaurant

Lucas and I were able to go to Lemongrass at Aria. It is a "modern interpretation of Thai cuisine" and it was so good. We were able to eat there for free because of Lucas's job, we only had to pay for the tip. Everything was served with rice and so it was really filling. There was dim lighting, and music playing, it was just a relaxing place. But then again, if we had to actually pay for the food maybe it wouldn't be a relaxing place.
Here is a picture of the restaurant because it would be hard to full describe the atmosphere.

January 2, 2013 ~ Lucas's Miami Trip

January 2, 2013 ~ Lucas's Miami Trip

Lucas and Sam were able to go to a Miami Heat game in Miami before Sam got married. Lucas had wanted to see a Heat game for a while and why not go on a brothers trip before Sam gets married.
