August 2015
My coworker at Vdara, Divina, invited Rachel and I to go to her daughters Christening. It was at Bishop Gorman High School. It was nice to be there. Divina has been a really good friend at Vdara, gotten to be real close with a lot of coworkers there but none more than her. After the Christening, we all went to lunch at a filipino restaurant. Divina, along with her whole family, including her husband's family are all filipino. It was pretty easy to spot the fact that we weren't related in anyway. But we enjoyed the food and the time with her and her family.

Well, my time at Vdara has come to an end. Here a few pictures with some coworkers. Here is Eddie Giustinianni and I.
Julian Brix and myself. If you are wondering why I am wearing my Holland soccer jersey at work is because this is my last day and about an hour before I was off, I went down to the uniform control and returned uniform.
Yesenia Martinez and me.
Here is my badge at Vdara.
So long Vdara!!!!
Everytime I got a drink of water, I would keep the cup, so I could refill it throughout the day. I would mark it with a big "L". This is a photo months after I left Vdara. They took a picture and sent it to me one day. This still have it out in remembrance of me.
Last phone call EVER!
For a farewell party, most people choose a bar or nightclub and everyone goes drinking. Well, clearly, that isn't something that would be enjoyable for me, so I chose Gameworks. It was a lot of fun! We played some DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), ate some food, and played some air hockey. It was a lot of fun enjoying each other all together for one last time. I have spent over 3 years working with Vdara. It got me through school and I was blessed to get the job. While both Rachel and I were working and going to school, this job provided us with a lot of great perks over the years. Since we didn't have a lot money, we couldn't spend money to do any activities together. This job provided us with a lot of free stuff and good times. I will miss working there. I made a lot of GREAT friends and had some of the best times with my coworkers. The managers weren't the best, but my coworkers kept me coming back. I am going to miss going to sushi with them, shows, dinners and just hanging out. But I have loved working there and it taught me a lot. Thanks Vdara. Cheers!

August 22, 2015 ~ Last Hurrah!

It is bitter sweet that Lucas has a new job because now he can finally start his career but now we don't get the perks of him working at Vdara. We wanted to go out with a bang so we went to Mastro's for dinner and a show, Matt Franco, after. We get 50% off at Mastro's which makes a $200 meal into a $100 meal and then we had $50 from a coworker (Amy) that we used. We are too cheap to spend that much money on a meal no matter how delicious and mouth watering it is so it will sadly be the last time we ever eat at Mastro's. We also celebrated my graduation from nursing school since Lucas and I hadn't celebrated alone yet. It was a nice night and of course Matt Franco was amazing, I love up close magic!!

August 17-20, 2015 ~ Hoer Reunion in Del Mar

August 17th- Let the fun begin!
We always have a blast at Del Mar for the Hoer reunions, it is filled with old traditions and hopefully new traditions (jet skiing and paddle boarding). The first full day we had there we went on the traditional bike ride around Coronado island. Lucas and I were in a duce-coup, which after getting out on the road we remembered that last year we said we would never rent it again because of how hard it is to peddle! But of course it was still fun! Lucy and Jac were in a duce-coup, and mom and dad were on a tandem bike (the smart people). It was a lot of fun! After riding around the island we went to the beach. Cody met up with us at the beach after riding bikes.

 August 18th- Beach day!
Today was filled with boogie boarding, surfing, volleyball and just having fun in the sun (except for Lucas and I because we got burned while riding bikes, we were decked out in rash guards).

August 19th- Mission Bay Baby!
We spent the day out at mission bay, which was a blast! We went to lunch at Luigi's, which is a delicious pizza place. Then mom and dad went on a bike tandem bike ride while the kids went jet skiing! I have never been jet skiing in a salt water bay, it was so much fun but I admit my face was very very salty after! The fun didn't stop after that because then we went paddle boarding. The common saying with the paddle boards was "permission to come aboard". That saying all started when one of the boys (I think the twins) said "permission to come aboard" and then jumped on his paddle board without waiting for a response, bringing them both down! After that the game started which evolved into us trying to knock each other off our boards. We had a hard time trying to get Cody off of his board but we were finally successful. After paddle boarding everyone except Cody, Lucas and I went sailing. There was a 6 person sailboat (significantly cheaper) and an 8 person sailboat. Lucas and I didn't really want to sail and Cody wanted to look for a bike so we sat out and they got the 6 person one. It was fun relaxing on the shore and watching them sail around. To top off an amazing day we ate at Phil's BBQ after.

August 20th- Let the Races Begin!
On the last full day for everyone (last half day for Lucas and I) we went to the Del Mar horse races. Considering the tickets were fairly cheap and the condo is right next to the race track I am surprised we haven't been to a horse race yet. Cody bought 5 different tickets on 5 different horses and gave everyone a ticket to make the race more interesting and competitive among the family and boy was it fun! Lucas and I sadly had to leave early from the horse races to get home by a reasonable time but it was a very eventful and relaxing trip with people I love!
