May 18-19, 2013 ~ Lake Las Vegas Anniversary

May 18-19, 2013 ~ Lake Las Vegas Anniversary

It is crazy Lucas and I have already been married for almost 1 year. Boy does time fly when your having fun!! Lucas and I really have had a fun time together. Our work and school hours are pretty crazy though. Most nights we both come home just in time for bed but at least we always get to crawl into bed each night and snuggle! Since I am in nursing school and have school on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays we decided to celebrate our anniversary early over my semester break. The break was only a week and we both had work during the week so we left Friday for the weekend. We went to lake Las Vegas, which doesn't feel like Vegas and it seemed like a real get away! Mom and dad were nice enough to pay for our 1 year anniversary and we got a nice room at the Westin that used to be the Lowes.

We got to lake Las Vegas around dinner time and had a nice dinner together. Our dinner table out looked the lake and it was just a beautiful night with good weather. We tried to get as full as possible on the free chips (as usual) that way we could stretch our one meal into two. We are just very frugal (some say cheap) but I prefer it that way and not very many 21 year olds are buying a house (almost 21 at least). It's like a game to see how little we can spend and how much fun we can have doing it. I love it!!

Anyway, now that I'm done with my tangent. It was a good night with my handsome husband and relaxing to not have to worry about what time it was and not have to be anywhere. After getting some C-foam from the chocolate factory (Cody said we had to try it, it was okay) we went back to the room for a movie. We watched "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone". The movie wasn't as good as the trailer made it seem and I probably wouldn't ever see it again but it was still a good night snuggling up to my man! In the morning we went kayaking on the lake! On our way to kayaking we checked out and ran into my dad. It was funny we ran into him because he was supposed to be on a camping trip with the twins and he obviously knew we were there because he bought our room. Apparently they were camping and it was freezing so in the middle of the night they left and came to lake Las Vegas. Lake Las Vegas was close and they still wanted to have a fathers son trip. It was fun exploring lake Las Vegas and racing Lucas. He won the kayak race but I'm used to him winning in sport type things. He is a natural athlete. I wish I would have taken more pictures of our first anniversary trip but what's done is done and I will always have the memories!

They have a beach at the Westin and a bonfire.

My handsome man!
