August 9th

On Saturday the 9th we all arrived in Del Mar at Aunt Catherine's condo. Everyone in the family was able to come except for Anna due to being on a mission and Bryant due to PA school in Chicago. The boys were so excited that we were in California so even though the water was cold and the sun was going down they went down to the beach to skim board. I happily joined them for the entertainment of watching Lucas try to learn how to skim board...it's so hard! It was entertaining at first but as usual he picked it up pretty easily.

Snap Backs are the new thing...we are naturals

August 11th

On Monday August 11th the girls went shopping in the morning while the boys went to the beach. After shopping we all met up at the beach for some fun! The boys ran into some high school friends at the beach, the Owens family. Since we had a football and plenty of people it naturally led to a game of 3 flys up, it was a blast! After a fun afternoon boogie boarding, swimming and playing games at the beach we all cleaned up for a family photo shoot! Chelsea brought her nice camera and a tripod and it was a success! 

Luc and Jac didn't have a significant other to hold in this picture so they held each other.

August 12th

Lucas has never been to a zoo (that he can remember of, after talking with Sally he had been to one when he was 3 years old) so of course we went to a zoo!! The day started off with riding a double decker bus around the park and then walking to the areas that we didn't see on the bus. After walking and being exhausted we saw the areal view of the park on the pods and watched a 3D movie! After the fun day at the zoo we went to Phil's BBQ, it was AMAZING!!

I guess we just aren't good at taking pictures at the zoo...

August 13th

On the 13th we had our traditional Coronado island day! Lucas and I picked the Duce Coop to ride because it looked like so much fun, it was so much fun to sit side-by-side but it was harder to pedal than we thought! Bryce, Chelsea, Diana and Cody were the only smart ones with their bike choices. Luckily Bryce and Chelsea wanted to try the Duce Coop out and therefore switched half way with us. The bike ride was amazing as usual and we all loved seeing all of the beautiful houses on the island. We topped the day off with swimming and relaxing on the beach and getting Moo Time ice cream! 

On August 14th unfortunately Lucas and I had to leave to have Lucas return to work but the majority of the family stayed and partied until Saturday the 16th.
