June 9, 2014 ~ 2 Year Anniversary Date
Our 2 year anniversary fell on a Monday this year so Lucas came home from work and we went out to dinner! Lucas brought home flowers for me, which is all I asked for, but he continued to make the night a special night. We went to "Mastro's Ocean Club" in Crystals and it was the fanciest yet most comfortable restaurant I have ever been in. Usually when I am in a fancy restaurant I feel uncomfortable and out of place but Mastro's was really fancy but casual at the same time. Anyway, they had the best steak ever!! It was so good! Since Lucas is a concierge that refers people to their restaurant we got extra special treatment. They gave us a free cake for our anniversary. Its a butter cake, which sounds gross but it was the best thing I have every tasted! It was really fun dressing up and going somewhere really nice for our anniversary.
After dinner we took it down a notch to something more casual and fun! We went to the dollar theater, our old stomping grounds when we were first married. We saw "Brick Mansions". It was an action movie. We had the best of both worlds, having a nice really fancy dinner and then having some casual fun!
A week or two ago I told Lucas how I only wanted two things for our anniversary, flowers and to slow dance with him. The night was heading an end and we got home and I went upstairs to take off my make-up and get ready for bed. We both had work in the morning and it was late so I though to myself, its too late to get my slow dance. But then Lucas called me downstairs to help him do something. On the way down I figured I would help him and maybe sneak in a quick slow song but when I came downstairs it was something much much better. He surprised me with our wedding video!! I had given Sam songs to use for our wedding video about 8 months earlier and never heard back from him and didn't want to bother him since he was doing it for us for a favor. Well, Lucas got the video from Sam and surprised me with it for our anniversary. Best present EVER! We watched it once and then the second time around we slowed danced. Yes, we slow danced to our wedding video. It was so romantic. It was the best anniversary a girl could ever ask for!!
I made Lucas a really cool accordion card thing that has the dates of special events every year that we have known each other and a picture from that year. I spent some time making it and Lucas liked it, but the wedding video and flowers blew my card out of the water. But it was a really romantic night and I just had fun being with my best friend. I am so lucky to have Lucas and to have been able to be married and sealed to him for all eternity. We are going to have much more fun together and I can't wait!!
Here are our 2nd anniversary pictures!! The highlight of the year was that Lucas graduated from UNLV with a Bachelor's degree (hence the graduation cap) I am so proud of him!!
