July 7, 2015 ~ Meeting Quinn Tielemans

We have another niece! She is precious and has a ton of hair!! Jordan really wanted a forth of July baby because she is a history teacher and who wouldn't want to share the same birthday as America but Quinn was stubborn and didn't want to come. Jordan had to be induce more then a week after her due date.

Here is what Jordan had to say about the delivery.

"I was over a week past my due date, so on July 7th I was induced at Spring Valley Hospital.  I went in at 8am, they broke my water around 1, and after about 2 hours I got an epidural.  Around 3:45 I started to feel a lot of pain, and called the nurse who said that was a baby ready to come. I only pushed for about 20 minutes before our baby made her entrance into the world.  Quinn Daphne Tielemans was born at 4:23 pm weighing 8 lbs 7 inches and 20.5 inches long."

Here are some precious pictures of Quinn

July 4, 2015 ~ 4th of July with the 51's

Nothing better then watching the game that America is known for, baseball, on America's birthday. Jordan didn't come because sitting in more than a hundred degree weather when she is past her due date didn't sound very fun. Jordan will be induced on July 7th, adding another niece to the family!

June 25, 2015 ~ Game Works with Vdara Coworkers

A bunch of coworkers from Vdara all went bowling together at Gameworks. It was a lot of fun. Eddie pulled his groin on his first bowl. Other than that, it was a smooth and fun time!

June 19, 2015 ~ Rachel's 23rd Birthday & MJ One

Today was a wonderful day! At work we celebrated my birthday and Brooke's last day of work. It is sad that Brooke is leaving, especially because I felt like I just got to know her well. She is moving to Idaho so her husband can start physical therapy school which is exciting though. After work we went to Claim Jumper (the usual birthday spot) for delicious food and of course chocolate chip calzones for dessert! Bryant came into town for the weekend from Chicago for my birthday!! Just kidding he came into town for a friends wedding and so we had the pleasure of having him join us! Due to Lucas' job (the magic words) we were able to get tickets to a dress rehearsal for MJ One for $15 each! But he could only get 4 tickets so mom, dad, Bryant and I went. Lucas was nice enough to give up his ticket so Bryant could go. It was a wonderful day and more then I could have asked for!

On my birthday (June 22nd) I came home to a special surprise from Lucas, a scavenger hunt that lead to a present...a bike! I had been talking about getting a bike for a little while but didn't want to bring myself to spending the money, Lucas is so thoughtful!

June 10, 2015 ~ Helicopter Ride for 3 year anniversary!

Helicopter ride around the Las Vegas Strip at night for free...Thank you very much! Amidst the craziness of my last semester of nursing school we were able to have a little 3rd year anniversary celebration. Due to Lucas' lovely job we went on a helicopter ride around the las vegas strip and it was breath taking! I love riding in helicopters as it is and it was really neat seeing vegas in a different way then I have ever seen it before! It is crazy that we have been married for 3 years now and together/dating for almost 5 years now. I sometimes tell Lucas stories of my childhood or tell him about childhood friends and after I finish the story he is like "Rachel I have known you for 5 years and know that friend (or story)". I guess I sometimes forget how much he know about me (which is like everything now). We have drawn so close over the years and I LOVE it!! As I am nearing the end of my nursing school career I am so very grateful for him and his ability to relax and have fun! In the beginning of our marriage it would almost stress me out how he would come home from work with no cares in the world and watch TV or want to hangout. It would stress me out because after I would get home from work or school (or both) I would have an ongoing list of things I needed to get done and in my head I was like "I can't sit down I have too much to do". In the beginning of our marriage I would just make myself relax and hangout with him but now I appreciate his ability to help me relax and I always have so much fun with him no matter what! I think it is only because of Lucas that I didn't go insane while in nursing school considering I work and go to school. I also Love his desire to learn and constantly make himself a better person.

May 30, 2015 ~ Elders Quorum Softball & Monica visits

Monica and her husband Tyler were coming home from a trip to Utah to visit grandma and grandpa and stayed with us for a night to split up the trip a little and make it easier for cute little John. It is crazy Monica is a mom! It was so cute seeing her take care of John and them interact as a family. John is such an active, fun boy! I was chasing him around and rough housing with him (which I can't do with Berkley yet even though she is a little older, she is barely walking). Of course, just our luck we realized none of the sockets or lights in the guest bedroom were working so we jimmy-rigged some lamps to an extension cord to make it so there was light in their bedroom. Tyler was so sweet and tried to fix the problem but unfortunately the problem is wiring in the wall not anything with the breaker or anything that he can fix. The night they came in we had fun just talking and relaxing. Monica and Tyler are so fun to talk to, we were laughing the whole night! In the morning I cooked breakfast for everyone and then we went to Canarelli for the Elders/High Priest softball game.

Lucas is Elders Quorum president of our ward and since he got called in January he has been wanting to put together a softball game. Now that it's finally warm enough (but not too warm) Lucas put together a game! One of the elders in the ward used to own a sports shop and happened to have a good number of bats and gloves so that really helped! Lucas did all of the appropriate paperwork through the middle school to rent out and use the baseball field and sent it in but the middle school didn't process the paperwork in time. The middle school pretty much said they can play on the field and jump the fence but they aren't liable or they can cancel the game. It made a hard decision for Lucas and after talking it over they decided to jump the fence. Come game day the fence was magically left unlocked and we were able to enter the field no problem. All of the guys had a lot of fun and it was a good turn out!
