Monica and her husband Tyler were coming home from a trip to Utah to visit grandma and grandpa and stayed with us for a night to split up the trip a little and make it easier for cute little John. It is crazy Monica is a mom! It was so cute seeing her take care of John and them interact as a family. John is such an active, fun boy! I was chasing him around and rough housing with him (which I can't do with Berkley yet even though she is a little older, she is barely walking). Of course, just our luck we realized none of the sockets or lights in the guest bedroom were working so we jimmy-rigged some lamps to an extension cord to make it so there was light in their bedroom. Tyler was so sweet and tried to fix the problem but unfortunately the problem is wiring in the wall not anything with the breaker or anything that he can fix. The night they came in we had fun just talking and relaxing. Monica and Tyler are so fun to talk to, we were laughing the whole night! In the morning I cooked breakfast for everyone and then we went to Canarelli for the Elders/High Priest softball game.
Lucas is Elders Quorum president of our ward and since he got called in January he has been wanting to put together a softball game. Now that it's finally warm enough (but not too warm) Lucas put together a game! One of the elders in the ward used to own a sports shop and happened to have a good number of bats and gloves so that really helped! Lucas did all of the appropriate paperwork through the middle school to rent out and use the baseball field and sent it in but the middle school didn't process the paperwork in time. The middle school pretty much said they can play on the field and jump the fence but they aren't liable or they can cancel the game. It made a hard decision for Lucas and after talking it over they decided to jump the fence. Come game day the fence was magically left unlocked and we were able to enter the field no problem. All of the guys had a lot of fun and it was a good turn out!
